Hi, I'm Deborah Gardner

A Blue Devil Family

I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Secondary Education/Social Studies in 1985 from the University of Wyoming. Go Pokes! I taught in Wyoming and California.  I then spent 12 years working in the area of bioethics and regulatory compliance at the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research in Washington, DC.  In 2013, I completed my Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction at the University of Montana. Go Griz!  I live in Corvallis with my husband, dog, cats, and horses.  Our two children, both now students at UM (and still home on the holidays!), attended Corvallis from kindergarten through 12th grade.  We’re proud to be a Blue Devils family!

A Great CMS Team

I feel blessed and privileged to work with a dedicated team of teachers.  They inspire, advise, problem solve, and are creative and fun, too!

Mrs. Bestor and I (located on the west side of the 5th grade hallway) share students.  Mr. Holmberg and I share subjects:  Math and Reading.

In my free time...

When not teaching, thinking about 5th graders, or working in the classroom, I enjoy hiking, gardening, horseback riding, biking, and READING! I've been a 4-H leader for over 10 years.  My family and I follow all sorts of sports (especially the Denver Broncos!).  The perseverance, dedication, attention to details, and teamwork demonstrated in sports apply to classroom learning, too.
